Braces that are clear

Braces can be very esthetic and much more comfortable than in the past. The use of clear aligners that are worn all day and night but can be removed for short periods of time has increased dramatically over the past several years. These allow much easier cleaning of the teeth and also allow brushing to be much more thorough. While clear aligners can not be used for all cases, they work great for most cases that are not overly complicated. The aligners must be worn about 23 hours a day to be effective. Removing them for periods much longer than that requires the body to restart the tooth movement process and slows the time that you are finished with braces.

So, for patients that are diligent about wearing aligners, it is a great alternative to traditional metal and wire braces.
